CCC’s Welcome Home Baby Lauds Assistance League’s Baby Bags Support
The Welcome Home Baby effort includes support during infant development, as well as pre-school and day care years.

Assistance League of Diablo Valley is a nonprofit, member volunteer organization dedicated to improving lives in our community through hands-on programs. Since 2010, its Baby Bags program has donated 14,000 bags to identified families in Contra Costa County. Baby Bags include such support items as disposable diapers, baby wipes, onesies, socks and burp cloths or bibs. With the help of Project Linus, baby blankets have been added. A most recent touch, a number of chapter members and other community supporters have added to the effort by knitting baby hats.
During a recent Assistance League Regular meeting, Missy Martinez, CCC Outreach Coordinator-Welcome Home Baby, offered insights re. the program’s procedures and thanked the chapter, specifically those volunteers who were hands-on involved with the most recent baby bags donation. The program’s overall goal is to help first time mothers parent. Ms. Martinez added that the appreciative clients look upon the donated necessities as luxuries.
