Cheap Flu Shots, Free Health Screenings At San Ramon Walmart

SAN RAMON, CA — Walmart is hoping to help customers get 2020 off to a healthier start with low-cost and free health services offered at a Saturday event.

Health and wellness professionals will be onhand to give inexpensive flu shots and immunizations, and offer health screenings for cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure and body mass index, according to a press release from Walmart. There will also be wellness demos and giveaways.

Health officials have warned that this year's flu season began early and has affected larger-than-normal swaths of the population. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that anyone six months or older get a flu shot. Older people can be especially susceptible to the illness.

All Bay Area Walmarts are participating from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., but you can visit the San Ramon store at 9100 Alcosta Blvd.
