Contra Costa Behavioral Health Hosts Suicide Prevention Forum

WHAT: Contra Costa Behavioral Health Services, a division of Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS), invites anyone interested to participate in the Suicide Prevention Community Forum via Zoom.

At this event, which is part of the county’s Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) planning process, participants will learn how to support themselves, a friend, or a loved one and what to do before, during, and after a crisis.

The event will also include self-care sessions, sharing of personal stories, and opportunities to discuss how to best support youth in our community. Information and resources on the MHSA and crisis supports in Contra Costa County will be shared as well.

WHO: All are welcome to attend this free event. The target audience is youth, young adults and those who want to help them.

WHEN: Thursday, September 9th, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. via Zoom.

WHY: Contra Costa’s current MHSA budget provides over $50 million in support of more than 80 mental health and wellness programs. Forum goals include sharing resources, identifying service needs and providing input to inform future planning of the MHSA Three-Year Program and Expenditure Plan.

The forum will include an overview of the MHSA in Contra Costa County.
