Contra Costa Superior Court Rolls Back Some Cost-Cutting Services, Hours Reductions
Night traffic court will soon be restored.

The Contra Costa Superior Court Tuesday announced it is reinstating courthouse hours that had been reduced as a cost savings measure.
The clerk’s offices had been closing at 1 p.m. on weekdays because of deep budget cuts over the past several years, according to Contra Costa Superior Court officials, but offices in all court locations will remain open to the public until 3 p.m. during non-holiday weekdays starting Nov. 1.
Night traffic court, which was eliminated to reduce costs, will also be restored as of Nov. 4. Calendars will be heard in Walnut Creek on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
