Convicted Rapist Arrested In San Ramon Investigation: Report

The registered sex offender thought he was chatting with a 14-year-old San Ramon student, according to a media report.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — A North Bay man accused of arranging to meet a minor for lewd purposes, attempted lewd act on a minor, and sending harmful material to a minor will be back in court in Contra Costa County later this month. An undercover investigation led by San Ramon Police Department detectives resulted in felony charges against 60-year-old Santa Rosa resident Mark Allen Mullis, according to the East Bay Times.

The East Bay Times reported that police said investigators posed as a 14-year-old San Ramon student during online conversations with Mullis, who is a convicted rapist and registered sex offender. Mullis and the police met through an adult dating service app, according to the report. Mullis will be back in court on March 12. Read the full story here.
