Danville Bicyclist Killed in Collision Identified
The crash happened at Crow Canyon Road and Tassajara Ranch Drive.

The Contra Costa County coroner’s office today identified a 55-year-old man who died Tuesday afternoon after his bicycle collided with a car in Danville.
George Kaufer, a Danville resident, was flown to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he was later pronounced dead, according to the coroner’s office and town officials.
The collision was reported at 4:37 p.m. near the intersection of Crow Canyon Road and Tassajara Ranch Drive.

Police said the driver remained at the scene of the collision and has fully cooperated with the investigation.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation and no charges have been filed against the driver, Danville town spokesman Geoff Gillette said.
