Danville Teen Punched, Robbed Of Purse Outside Stoneridge Mall

The 17 year old was with friends Saturday night near P.F. Chang's. Three suspects possibly driving a silver Honda Pilot, police said.

PLEASANTON, CA - A 17-year-old girl from Danville was mugged and robbed of her purse Saturday night in a parking lot at Stoneridge Shopping Center in Pleasanton, according to police.

The teen was walking from a car to the mall with female friends shortly after 8 p.m. near the P.F. Chang’s restaurant when she was approached by three males in a silver SUV, the Pleasanton Police Department said.

The trio, described as three black males between 18 and 25 years old, allegedly exited their car and began trying to talk to the girls, police said. As the girls continued to walk away, one male caught up to the victim and grabbed her purse.

As she attempted to wrestle to hold onto her handbag, one man reportedly struck her once in the face with his fist, pushed her to the ground and took her purse, police said. The three suspects returned to their vehicle and sped off toward Stoneridge Mall Road.

One witness reported seeing one of the males holding a long, black stick or piece of metal. It is unknown what the item was, and it was not used or brandished during the robbery, according to police.

The victim suffered minor injuries from the struggle and required no medical aid, police said.

The suspects are described as being of medium build and wearing dark-colored hoodie sweatshirts. They were driving an older, silver Honda Pilot with an unknown license plate, police said.
