Destructive, Wild Pigs Are Back In San Ramon
The swines' nighttime feeding frenzy has local residents at wit's end.

SAN RAMON, CA – It's the return of the wild pigs in San Ramon!
Local homeowners report that the destructive critters are back and wreaking havoc on lawns as they hunt nightly for grubs, their insect food source, according to area news agencies.
One resident said her lawn, as with others nearby, looks like it was bulldozed. One regional homeowner's association is contemplating eco-friendly means to "de-grub" turf in an attempt to the pigs at bay.

This is nothing new to the East Bay, as such pig problems have plagued the area for years.
Sprinkler systems keep lawns green, feeding tubers, roots, fungus and bugs and providing moist soil that's easy to root around and eat if you're a wild pig.

"Once they find a free lunch, they're there for good," Craig Stowers, an environmental program manager for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, said when pig woes dominated San Ramon in 2013.
In this most recent influx, one homeowner's security system caught the piggies in action.
