SAN RAMON, CA — Bishop Ranch announced Monday that it has selected Related California, a developer of more than 18,000 residential units completed or under construction, to develop the neighborhood’s first multifamily community housing, pending approval from the City of San Ramon.

The city plans to construct an 85-foot-high, 266-652-square-feet residential building offering 381 dwelling units on a 5.8-acre parcel, according to SF YIMBY. Fifteen percent of the units will be priced for households deemed low or very low. Current San Ramon city council candidates have all praised the project as bringing needed housing into an already dense area close to public transportation, shopping, and office buildings.

Over the next 20-30 years, Bishop Ranch owner Sunset Development hopes to introduce 4,500 multi-family residential units into the neighborhood. The CityWalk Bishop Ranch master plan also hopes to build a 169-room hotel, 170,000 square feet of retail space and a new office parking structure.
