Dougherty Valley To Host Youth Dance, Prince Shows

SAN RAMON, CA — Get your dancing shoes on, San Ramon: the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center has a jam-packed weekend.

On Saturday, the theater will host a dance showcase for the theater’s dance troupe called “We Dance Because.” The show will kick off their competition season, and feature performances from all ages in jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, and more. Performances will range from 5-year-olds to high school seniors performing self-choreographed works. The show will start at 10 a.m., and tickets can be purchased here.

On Sunday at 7 p.m., bring your raspberry beret and purple clothing: the Purple Xperience, a five-piece national tour group from Minneapolis, will perform Prince’s greatest hits. Tickets can be purchased here.
