Dougherty Valley HS Women Winter Classic Basketball Champions

Congratulations to the DVHS Women's Varisty Basketball team led by Head Coach Doug VanderHorst and Coach Cheryl Namoca. With 8 competitive teams vying for the title, DVHS beat McClymond's, San Leandro and finally the 6 time tourney champions from Berkeley High School in a high intensity game on Saturday night to win as Champions of the DVHS Winter Classic.
Senior Amisha Kambath was recognized as an All Tournament player, and senior Maddie Taylor won top honors as an All Tournament MVP. The win marks a first in 10 years for the women's program in the school's 11 year history! The team will play Mission San Jose at home on Tuesday night (7pm).
