Dougherty Valley Student Refuses Ride With Stranger

The man asked her multiple times if she wanted a ride, then he instructed her to "get in the car."

SAN RAMON, CA — A Dougherty Valley High School student who was walking home from campus Friday afternoon was approached by an unknown man in a black Honda sedan who insisted she take a ride with him, the San Ramon Valley Unified School District reported.

The incident occurred at 3:35 p.m. near Japonica Way and Ivy Hill Road, according to the district.

The man asked her multiple times if she wanted a ride, then he instructed her to “get in the car." She refused and walked away, according to the district.
