
The City of San Ramon has partnered with the United States Olympic Committee to celebrate Olympic Day 2011.
Olympic Day is celebrated in over 160 countries and commemorates the birth of the modern Olympics. Olympic Day is not only a celebration, but an international effort to promote fitness and well-being in addition to the Olympic ideals of fair play, perseverance, respect and sportsmanship. Sponsored internationally by McDonald's, thousands of people of all ages in more than 160 countries will participate in Olympic Day events in 2011.
San Ramon’s Olympic Day celebration and free recreation swim night will take place at on June 24, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Children from the City’s camp programs will march in an Olympian Parade to kick off the evening.

Olympic swimmer Lynn Gautschi will address the audience and Walnut Creek’s synchronized swim team, Aquanuts will present a special demonstration.
There will be lifeguard skills demonstrations, inner tubes races and a rubber ducky dunk, too!
