UPDATE: Fatal Traffic Collision Causes Road Closure in San Ramon
Police say a witness reported seeing the involved vehicle traveling west on Bollinger Canyon Road at a high rate of speed before the crash.

SAN RAMON, CA: Update at 5: 35 p.m. by Bay City News: One person died when their vehicle veered off the roadway and struck several trees this afternoon in San Ramon. At 12:03 p.m., officers responded to a report of a solo vehicle accident on Bollinger Canyon Road, near Harcourt Way, according to police.
A witness reported seeing the involved vehicle traveling west on Bollinger Canyon Road at a high rate of speed. The vehicle left the roadway, striking several trees along the roadway, police said. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other occupants were inside the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. Police believe speed combined with a wet roadway may have been a factor in the crash.

According to a Tweet from the San Ramon Police Department, northbound Bollinger Canyon Road from East Branch Parkway through Windemere Parkway has been closed while officers investigate the collision.
