Fire, Smoke Expected To Impact Tri-Valley Residents During Burns

"With fire season approaching, SRVFPD is taking proactive measures to train and prepare for wildland fires across California."

SAN RAMON, CA — Tri-Valley residents can expect to see smoke Wednesday as part of a controlled burn by San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District crews in the area of Camp Parks, it was announced. Another controlled burn in the same area is scheduled June 10-13, the SRVFPD announced.

"With fire season approaching, SRVFPD is taking proactive measures to train and prepare for wildland fires across California. These controlled burns will help firefighting tactics and remove potential ignitable landscapes. Our goal is to protect life and property safely and effectively," the SRVFPD said in a statement.

In addition to smoke during the controlled burns, residents can expect to see firefighters, firefighting vehicles and equipment in the area.
