San Ramon Valley Fire Could Get A Training Facility
The Planning Commission discussed plans for a new firefighter training facility at Bollinger Canyon and Crow Canyon roads on Tuesday.

SAN RAMON, CA — The City of San Ramon Planning Commission advanced plans to build a fire training facility at a Tuesday night meeting.
The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District seeks to build a new safety training facility at 1500 Bollinger Canyon Road, where a 20,000-square-foot fire administration building and 6,500-square-foot Fire Station No. 38 is located, the city wrote in a report to the commission. The project would entail demolishing the administration building and add a classroom complex, 45-foot training tower and other training props.
The site is located at the southeast corner of Bollinger Canyon and Crow Canyon roads. SRVFPD has long been looking for a site to build a training facility, the city wrote.

Neighbors at the meeting voiced concerns about noise and the impact the facility would have on the community. The council discussed adding a sound wall to muffle noise and ensuring advanced notice is provided to neighbors ahead of night training sessions.
The SRVFPD training facility plan will head back to the San Ramon City Council at its Feb. 11 meeting.
