Free For April: Build a Birdhouse, Bunny Craft and More
There are number of museums offer free admission on April 7 and 8.
It’s the start of April, and that means it’s time to check out some more fun and free activties geared for kids but also fun for the whole family.
Head to in San Ramon or Dublin on April 7, and you and your child can work together and use a hammer and nails to build your own bird feeder for the backyard. At home, paint your birdhouse and display your own creation in your front or backyard.
Also on April 7, your child can make a cool bunny basket at in Walnut Creek. It’s a great way to get ready for an Easter egg hunt! On Saturday, April 14, children can return to this child-friendly locale to decorate a cowboy boot. Both events are held each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Looking for some spring break activities for kids? Consider a daily trip to the main branch of the . The week of April 9 to 13 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., the library is featuring a movie suitable for children every day. From “Puss in Boots” to “Tangled,” there is a different movie offered to tame boredom when school is out.
Willing to travel a bit further for some free and engaging fun? Are you a Bank of America cardholder? If so, you will get in free to Chabot Space and Science Center, The Tech Museum in San Jose, the Legion of Honor or the deYoung Museum on either April 7 or 8. Not a Back of America member, you can still get in at no charge on Wednesday, April 4 at the Exploratorium in San Francisco.

Another destination that might intrigue both children and children at heart takes place in Berkeley on Saturday, April 14. Explore the Berkeley Marina by boat on either a sailboat or a dragon boat. This event takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The marina is located at 201 University Avenue in Berkeley.
