Gala To Support Wounded Vets: Tickets On Sale

Sentinels of Freedom, champions of veterans' transition to civilian life, is hosting the April 14 event at Blackhawk Museum in Danville.

SAN RAMON, CA – Tickets are on sale for the 4th Annual Sentinels Gala, a fundraiser for the not-for-profit, veteran-support organization Sentinels of Freedom, set for Saturday, April 14 at the Blackhawk Museum in Danville.

The evening will feature distinguished guest speakers, live music and exquisite dining, as well as Vice Admiral Joseph P. Mulloy (Ret.), a 38-year Navy veteran and vice president of Northrop Grumman Marine Systems, as the keynote speaker. Sentinel Chris Judge, Navy SEAL, and Sentinel Kyle Carpenter, 2014 Medal of Honor Recipient, also will share their stories, according to the San Ramon-based Sentinels of Freedom, which provides personal support to severely wounded post-9/11 veterans as they transition to civilian life.

“SOF truly gives back and says thanks to those that sacrifice so much … It is about me, it’s personal," Carpenter said. "They truly do care.”

Proceeds from the gala support such SOF programs as assisting vets with cost-of-living and housing assistance, financial coaching, mentoring and career transition.

“Sentinels of Freedom distinguishes itself as a nonprofit that does not simply give help to severely injured veterans,” said Mike Conklin, SOF chairman and CEO. “It asks for veterans to exhibit the initiative to succeed educationally and professionally. SOF opens opportunities for Sentinels to meet those goals and to give back to their communities, just as they have given so much for the defense of our country.”
