Goldenview kids reach DI Globals

7 Echos from Goldenview Elementary Advances to Destination Imagination's Global Finals, the Largest Celebration of Creativity in the World

San Ramon, CA April 02, 2016 -- After achieving honors for creativity, teamwork and innovation in regional and state academic tournaments, 7 Echos has earned the right to compete in Destination Imagination's Global Finals, the world’s largest celebration of student creativity, to be held on May 25-28 in Knoxville, Tennessee.

7 Echos will compete with other international teams in the Pace of Change, Technical Challenge, one of seven, open-ended challenges that require students to apply science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills, in addition to their talents in improvisation, theater arts, writing, project management, communication, innovation, teamwork, community service and social entrepreneurship.

The team has designed and build a Vehicle that can complete 40 trips back and forth across a specified area while carrying at least one team member. This vehicle uses 2 movement methods and 2 propulsion system to gain maximum points. 7 Echos have also created and will be presenting a Story that features the concept of change and depicts a change in a character.

The team will make it to the Globals with just two team members. The kids have worked almost 5 hours after school every single day to make this happen.
