Heart-Stopping Video: Driver Nods Off, Narrowly Misses Pedestrian
Police said this near miss could have easily been a deadly crash.
SAN RAMON, CA — A man is lucky to be alive following a harrowing near miss in San Ramon earlier this month. An alarming video posted by police shows a driver run a red light and barely missing a pedestrian before slamming into another car. Initial reports indicated that the driver may have fallen asleep, however, police said the investigation into the cause of the wreck is ongoing.
Dashboard camera captured the disturbing footage of the collision on Alcosta Boulevard between the Iron Horse Trail and Village Parkway. Police said the pedestrian was crossing and had the right of way at the time of the collision.
“Tragedy narrowly avoided,” police said. “Please be careful, whether driving a vehicle or as a pedestrian.”
