Longtime San Ramon Kindergarten Teacher Passes Away At 46
Bincy Chu, 46, leaves behind a husband, two children, parents and a brother. She touched lives at two San Ramon elementary schools.

SAN RAMON, CA — Bincy Chu, a longtime local kindergarten teacher, passed away last month at 46 years old. She leaves behind husband Cheng Chu, children Brandon and Cara, parents King and Lisa Chu, and brother Stephen Chu.
Chu worked at Live Oak Elementary since the school opened in 2007, said school Principal Carolyn Dobel in an email.
"She will be deeply missed by students, parents and staff," she said.

DanvilleSanRamon.com reported Tuesday that Chu taught kindergarten for 21 years at Live Oak, Quail Run Elementary in San Ramon and Alta Vista Elementary in Los Gatos. Her school bio says she held a bachelor's degree in biology from University of California, Santa Cruz and a multiple subject teaching credential from San Jose State University.
"I hope to instill a love of school and a lifetime of learning in each child," Chu wrote in her bio. "I am fortunate to be working with such a compassionate and supportive community of students, families, and staff."

Her obituary did not list a cause of death, but said she passed away on Nov. 24. Her funeral service was held Dec. 7.
