Man, Dog Escape House Fire in Danville on Monday
The fire was reported in the 1500 block of Green Valley Road.

A Danville man and his dog safely escaped a fire in their Danville home on Monday afternoon, San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District spokesperson Kimberly French said.
The fire, in the 1500 block of Green Valley Road, was reported at about 1:21 p.m.

“The resident and his dog safely escaped and there were no other injuries reported,” French said.
French says the cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire officials have not yet estimated the monetary damage to the home but French says the cost is likely to be “substantial.”

“The home sustained significant damage due to smoke and fire,” French said.
Residents reported traffic snarls and road closures throughout the afternoon.
