Man Suspected Of Indecent Exposure Approached San Ramon Students Again, School Officials Say

Officials said the man is believed to be the same suspect who exposed himself middle school students in San Ramon earlier this month.

SAN RAMON, CA — Police are are looking for a man who allegedly exposed himself to middle school students as they walked home from school this week. Officials said the man is believed to be the same suspect who exposed himself middle school students in San Ramon earlier this month. School officials said that on October 16 between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., the man allegedly approached two female students and told them they were attractive.

“The students ignored the man and left,” San Ramon Valley Unified School District officials said in a letter to parents. “A little later, in the same area, the man asked a female Dougherty Valley High School student if she would take a photo of him. The man then exposed himself to the student.”

The students reported the incidents. Police said the first incident took place at about 4:30 p.m. on October 5. The man allegedly drove up next to two students who were walking in the area of Bollinger Canyon Road near Blossom Ridge Lane.

“The male told the boy to walk away and asked the girl to come to his vehicle,” police said in a statement. “When the she approached the vehicle, the male asked if she had a girlfriend and attempted to grab her shirt. She looked inside the vehicle, saw the male’s genitals were exposed, and that he was touching his genitals in an inappropriate manner.”

The teenager ran from the suspect. The second incident took place about 30 minutes later. Another student reported seeing the same suspect in the same car. He pulled his older, dark gray, 4-door sedan up next to her as she walked in the area of Bollinger Canyon Road and Main Branch Road. Police said he asked her some questions and eventually tried to get her to tell him her name. That student ran away from the suspect.

Five days later, on October 10, although he did not try to talk to her, police said one of the students from the first incident spotted the suspect’s car driving through the same area.

The suspect is described as a man in his 20s or 30s. He has dark, disheveled hair, “buck teeth” and speaks with an accent. He has light facial hair and a scar on his right cheek. He weighs about 150 pounds and is possibly about 5 feet, 6 inches tall. His car may have had Nevada license plates.

On October 12, school district official sent a letter to parents to notify them of the incident.
The San Ramon Police Department shared tips for parents to share with their about following safe practices:

  • Do not talk to strangers, even if they know your name.
  • Always walk directly to and from school using the same path every day.
  • Run directly to school or home if you are approached by a stranger.
  • Always walk or ride your bike with a group of friends.
  • Immediately notify a school official or parent if they observe strange activity.

Police said they have beefed up patrols in the area and that the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the San Ramon Police Department at 925-973-2779. Police ask residents to report any suspicious behavior immediately.
