New Hours Announced for Dougherty Valley Aquatic Center

San Ramon, CA— The Dougherty Valley Aquatic Center schedule is now offering new recreational swim hours, according to San Ramon city officials. The limited hours for recreation and lap swimming were instituted this week.

"During the budget review process, it was necessary for the Parks and Community Services Department to make some changes to maximize our resources, reduce costs and increase revenue at the two aquatic centers," city spokesperson Nicole Blazin said. "In the past, both pools housed the same programs. The plan moving forward is to no longer duplicate programs at both sites."

Blazin said the changes will be evaluated at the at the end of summer season to determine to see if they will remain the same.

Recreation and Lap Swim Hours for Dougherty Valley Aquatic Center:

July 5 – August 12, 2016

• Play Pool Only: Monday – Friday 11:45 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.

Sunday, July 10, 17, 24 and August 7, 14, 2016

• Recreation and Lap Swim (Play Pool & 50 Meter Pool): 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.

"The Parks and Community Services Commission will be receiving a report on the pool operation at their July 13 meeting at 7 p.m. at San Ramon City Hall," Blazin said. "We are encouraging citizens to attend this meeting and share their questions or concerns with the Commission."

Dougherty Valley Aquatic Center is located at 10550 Albion Rd. in San Ramon.
