Announcement information submitted by Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association:
Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association (PCFMA), in conjunction with Cookin’ The Market and Fresh Approach, presented its first ever Field to Fork fundraising dinner in Danville on September 20, 2014. The Seasonal Supper featured farm-fresh food, live music, fine local wine, and a raffle benefiting nutritional education programs for low-income families of the Bay Area
made possible by their sister organization, Fresh Approach.
On the last night of summer, a group of local food enthusiasts gathered in Hap Magee Ranch Park to celebrate the year’s harvest by sharing a seasonal supper. The event was a celebration of seasonal eating and the work of farmers. The benefit dinner was a huge success, raising more than $2000 for Fresh Approach and bringing the community closer to their farmers, literally, right next to them! Farmer Al Courchesne, from Frog Hollow Farm, and Farmers Matt Sylvester and Helena Tuman,
from Happy Acre Farm, shared the table with guests and talked to them about their farms and the produce used in each dish. Chef Mario Hernandez wowed diners with his skillfully crafted dishes creating a range of delicious flavors from the Danville Farmers’ Market.
