SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon threw itself a 40th birthday party to remember on Aug. 25. Over 200 people attended the 40th Gala celebration, which included a cocktail hour, champagne toast, and 80s-themed dancing, desserts, and photo booth.

The gala was sponsored by Chevron, Bishop Ranch, San Ramon Chamber of Commerce, Beverage Management Group, City Village, Patelco, John Muir Health, San Ramon Regional Medical Center, Summit Financial Group, Canyon Lakes Brewery, and ACI.

“The evening sparkled from the champagne glasses raised in toast to 40 years, to the smiles of the attendees as they reminisced, remembered, and danced to hits from 1983 the year San Ramon Incorporated,” San Ramon Parks & Community Service Director Kathi Heimann said in a statement shared with Patch. “It was a very special moment to hear MaryLou Oliver who served on the original incorporation committee and the first City Council recount how hard it was and the challenges they faced trying to incorporate and how ecstatic they were when they succeeded.”
