Police to Hold Free Child Safety Seat Inspection

The event will be held next week

A free Child Safety Seat Check-Up event will be held at the San Ramon Police Department on Wednesday, September 24 from 10 a.m. to noon.

The child safety seat (or seats) must arrive installed and please bring the vehicle and car seat manuals. Technicians will inspect child safety seats and instruct care givers on how to make corrections and install the seats properly.

More than 70 percent of child safety seats are incorrectly installed, according to a 2010 study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

When children are buckled in age and size appropriate car seats, booster seats and seat belts, the risk of serious and fatal injuries is significantly reduced.
