Racist Graffiti Found at San Ramon High School Leads to Temporary Closure of Bathrooms, Parent Meeting
This is the fourth time race-related graffiti has been found in a bathroom at California High.

SAN RAMON, CA — Another incident of race-related graffiti reported at a San Ramon High school Friday morning prompted the temporary closure of the bathrooms and yet another police investigation, San Ramon Valley Unified School District officials said. This is the fourth case of race-related graffiti discovered at California High School since October.
Students were allowed access to bathrooms with an adult escort while officials created a plan to move forward. District officials say police are investigating the rash of race-related graffiti. The Cal High Black Student Union tweeted images of the most recent graffiti.
“We are working very closely with the School Resource Officer to review the videos from the cameras outside the restrooms and interviewing students,” district officials said in a statement.

In response to the graffiti, the district held a meeting for parents Friday night.
Race-related graffiti was also discovered in bathrooms at Monte Vista High earlier this week. A student discovered the words “whites” and “colored” written above urinals on campus. Officials reported the incident to police and removed the graffiti. In response to the incident, officials held a school-wide assembly and a lunch meeting in the gym on Thursday.
