Redistricting In San Ramon: How To Participate
San Ramon residents share their thoughts on new district boundaries, an important piece in the electoral process.

The City of San Ramon has begun the process of re-drawing the district lines for future City Council elections, based on new data from the 2020 Census.
On November 9, 2021, the City Council held the first Public Hearing on the redistricting process. Demographer Michael Wagaman presented an overview of the redistricting process, including the timeline, an explanation of redistricting, opportunities for public input, and more.

Public input is key to the redistricting process. Now through February 3, 2022, residents are invited to share their thoughts through one or more of the following:

1. Draw a draft map with one or more new district boundaries
2. Identify one or more Communities of Interest
3. Participate in upcoming public hearings:
Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 7 p.m.
Public Hearing 2: Consideration of Public Input and Preliminary Discussion
Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 7 p.m.
Public Hearing 3: Consideration of Draft Maps and Direction on Refinement
Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 7 p.m.
Public Hearing 4: Consideration of Final Maps
