Register Now for National Night Out in San Ramon
The community event is designed to heighten crime and drug awareness.
San Ramon, CA— On Tuesday, August 2, 2016, neighborhoods throughout San Ramon are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “33rd Annual National Night Out” crime/drug prevention event.
National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the San Ramon Police Department and your Neighborhood Watch Groups, will involve over 16,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. Territories, Canadian cities, and military bases around the world.
In all, more than 38 million people are expected to participate in “America’s Night Out Against Crime” on August 2nd.

National Night Out is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug awareness
- Generate support for, and participation in, our Neighborhood Watch Programs and other anti-crime efforts
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and Police-Community relations
- Send a message to criminals letting them know our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back against crime!
From 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., on August 2nd, residents in neighborhoods throughout San Ramon are asked to lock your doors, turn on outside lights, and spend the evening outdoors on porches, lawns, and front steps, with neighbors, and police officers.

Many of our Neighborhood Watch groups are planning special events, such as pot-lucks, block parties, ice cream socials, and the like. During the evening, San Ramon Police Department representatives will be visiting neighborhoods across San Ramon, helping them light up the city.
Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 2nd, 5:30 p.m.. If your neighborhood is planning on having a get together, please let us know no later than Thursday, July 28, 2016, so we can be sure to stop by your event.
