San Ramon Among Top 10 Safest CA Cities: Study
Safewise named San Ramon one of the state's safest cities, based on violent and property crime data.

SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon was named the 9th safest city in California by Safewise, based on FBI-reported data on violent crime and property crime. San Ramon was the only Bay Area city except Danville — which was named safest in the state — to make the top 10.
In 2025, San Ramon reported 11 property crimes per 1,000 residents, compared to a state average of 20.84 and a national average of 22.89. It reported 0.8 violent crimes per 1,000 residents, compared to a state average of 4.24 and a national average of 4.43.
By contrast, Danville reported 5.9 property crimes per 1,000 residents, and 0.6 violent crimes per 1,000 residents.
