San Ramon-Based Chevron Scores High As 'Inclusive Workplace'

SAN RAMON, CA — A joint initiative between the American Association of People with Disabilities and Disability: IN has found that San Ramon-based Chevron is a good place for people with disabilities to work. The company was named to the 2019 Disability Equality Index “Best Places to Work for People with Disabilities,” it was announced Monday.

The initiative — called the "Disability Equality Index" — measures key performance indicators across an organization and its leadership, including access, employment practices, community engagement and supplier diversity.

Taking part in the Index is decided by companies — 2019 marked Chevron's first year of participation. A total of 180 companies took part this year, and Chevron earned a top score of 100 percent for its efforts in promoting an inclusive workplace for people with disabilities, according to Disability: IN.

Of the 180 businesses that participated, 156 were top-scoring, meaning they scored 80 percent and above.

Tapping into this incredible pool of talent helps us foster greater innovation and promote a more inclusive workforce."
