San Ramon Best Place To Raise A Family In Contra Costa County, 2nd Best In Bay Area: Niche

SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon is the best place to raise a family in Contra Costa County and the second best suburb to raise a family in the San Francisco Bay Area, according to ranking website Niche.

The rankings were assigned based on online reviews and data from the Department of Education, the U.S. Census, the FBI, and more.
San Ramon was also ranked:

• 2nd best place to live in Contra Costa County (out of 47 cities)
• 5th best place for young professionals in Contra Costa County
• 7th best suburb to raise a family in California (out of 526)
• 335th best public schools in America (out of 6,797 cities)

In June, the U.S. Social Progress map determined that San Ramon has the highest quality of life in the United States, according to 50 indicators measuring factors like safety, health, education, and access to opportunity. Pleasanton had the second highest quality of life in the country, according to the study.

San Ramon received an overall score of A+ on a Niche report card measuring several factors, including schools, crime, housing, and weather.

The city got an A+ for its public schools, family friendliness, and health and fitness. It received a C+ for Housing, a C- for Cost of Living, and a B+ for Crime & Safety. See here for the full report card.

Nearby, Danville received an overall grade of A, and was ranked the 11th best place to live in Contra Costa County. Dublin received an overall grade of A, and was ranked 29th for "Best Suburbs to Live in the San Francisco Bay Area."
