San Ramon-Bound Bus Crashes In Walnut Creek Thursday; 5 Injured
A bus headed for Bishop Ranch crashed on Thursday while exiting the highway, according to the Contra Costa Fire Protection District.
WALNUT CREEK, CA — Five people were hospitalized with injuries suffered in a four-vehicle crash Thursday at a Walnut Creek intersection, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said.
A county bus was headed toward San Ramon's Bishop Ranch neighborhood, according to a report in Danville San Ramon. It was among the four vehicles involved in the collision reported shortly before 4 p.m. during rainy conditions at Ygnacio Valley Road and Oakland Boulevard, just east of Interstate 680, according to Con Fire.
Five patients were transported to hospitals: one with critical injuries, one with moderate injuries, and three with minor injuries, Con Fire said.

Ten people on the county bus were evaluated for injuries. The cause appeared to be a vehicle exiting the highway too fast for the weather, Con Fire said.
"Wet roads and wind are leading to multiple accidents across the area," Con Fire said. "Please slow down and arrive alive."
