San Ramon City Council Election Pivotal to Tassajara Valley

The San Ramon Elections on November 6th are pivotal to preserving the Tassajara Valley and our County's Urban Limit Line! Watch 1 min video

The San Ramon City Council Election are pivotal to the preservation of Tassajara Valley and to our County's Urban Limit Line!

An important issue facing the voters in the election of San Ramon city council members is the position of the candidates on the preservation of open space in the county.

The county has had in place an “Urban Limit Line” for many years that precludes urban development outside the line without voter approval, but with an exception for developments under 30 acres. A developer is now manipulating this exception to cross the urban limit into protected open space in the Tassajara Valley with a proposed development that violates the 30 acre exception. All of the council member candidates were surveyed and asked the question “Do you support the county’s Urban Limit Line as presently constituted?” Candidates Hudson, Zafar and Madireddi gave clear and unequivocal answers, both to the written survey and at the candidates’ forum, that they support the Urban Limit Line that prevents urban sprawl. Candidate Verose did not respond to two survey requests. If preserving open space is important, San Ramon voters should be guided accordingly.
