SAN RAMON, CA — With nearly 500 people watching on, last week Chief Financial Officer Barry Zwarenstein of San Ramon-based Five9 was awarded the 2019 Bay Area CFO of the Year Award in the small-to-medium public company category. The Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards are presented by San Francisco-based nonprofit Larkin Street Youth Services in partnership with the San Francisco Business Times. Proceeds from the ceremony, which was held June 6 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco, benefit Larkin Street’s work to prevent and end youth homelessness. This year the event raised more than $500,000.

“Barry is a world-class CFO,” said Rowan Trollope, Five9 CEO. “I have had considerable experience in dealing with CFOs throughout my career and I consider Barry to be one of the best. I deeply value his vast experience, intelligence, business savvy, financial acumen and leadership. He is deeply respected throughout the organization and by Wall Street. His work ethic is amazing. Barry is a key business partner for me and the rest of the executive management team.”

Zwarenstein has more than 35 years of financial leadership in the technology industry, and has served as the Five9 CFO since January 2012 and interim CEO from December 2017 until May 2018.
