San Ramon To Host 3rd Redistricting Public Meeting
On Thursday, the city's demographer will present a series of draft maps for Council and public comment.

SAN RAMON, CA — The San Ramon City Council will hold its third public redistricting hearing Thursday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be the third of the four meetings required before council members vote to adopt new boundaries following the 2020 census
Demographer Michael Wagaman will present five draft maps for discussion and public comment. Five draft maps were created per Council direction and public comment, and one map was submitted from the public.

Residents can email comments to districtelections@sanramon.ca.gov, or by providing public comment at Thursday’s meeting.
The results will have a large impact on local elections, since the city switched in 2019 from at-large to district-based elections for mayoral and city council seats. In 2022, the mayoral seat will be determined at-large, while councilmembers from Districts 2 and 4 will be elected by district.
In May, the San Ramon City Council voted to take the lead in the redistricting process.

Consideration of final maps will take place during a public meeting on March 22. San Ramon is required to adopt a final district map by April 17.
