San Ramon To Launch Business Relief Program: Coronavirus
The programs would establish a point of contact for businesses in need of guidance, create online webinars and more.
SAN RAMON, CA — The San Ramon City Council voted Wednesday during a special meeting to execute a $22,500 contract with Townsend Public Affairs to create a three-month relief program for businesses impacted by the new coronavirus.
Businesses may currently qualify for state or federal assistance, but "due to the constantly evolving nature of new programs and application processes, many local businesses are struggling with navigating the confusing landscape," Deputy City Manager Steven Spedowfski wrote in a report to the council.
Townsend said in its proposal that it will: help San Ramon determine what state and federal resources can aid local businesses; create a business support center; launch a public information campaign; solicit business feedback; and interact with and screen businesses to ensure they are eligible for assistance.
