San Ramon Man Accused Of Lewd, Lascivious Acts Against Children
Police said the San Ramon man faces 20 sexual assault charges.

SAN RAMON, CA — A San Ramon man accused of committing lewd and lascivious acts on at least four young victims has been arrested, police officials said. Thomas Jon Pancoast, 46, sexually assaulted the juvenile victims over a three year period, according to police.
Detectives launched an investigation on March 16, after learning of the allegations. Investigators served search warrants at a home in San Ramon and Pancoast was arrested.
Police said the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office filed charges against Pancoast on March 23rd. He faces 11 counts of lewd and lascivious act on child under 14; two counts of rape of an intoxicated woman; five counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a minor 14 to 15 and sexual penetration by object on intoxicated person. Pancoast is being held on $12.7 million bail.

The San Ramon Police Department would like to remind parents to speak with their children about following safe practices:
- If you see something, say something
- Parents can teach young children about the privacy of body parts, and that no one has the right to touch their bodies if they don’t want that to happen.
- Immediately notify a school official, parent, or a trusted responsible friend if they observe strange activity.
