Four New Pickleball Courts Now Open at Central Park

On Friday, November 3, four new pickleball courts opened at San Ramon Central Park (12501 Alcosta Blvd.).

In recent years, pickleball has become a popular recreational activity, and the City of San Ramon has been working to select a pickleball court location without disrupting the tennis community.

Beginning October 18, City contractors began to convert Tennis Court #1 at San Ramon Central Park into four new pickleball courts. The site was chosen based on its central location within the City, and because it had three full tennis courts.

Contractors installed a six-foot fence between Tennis Courts #1 and #2 to help prevent tennis balls and pickle balls from entering the wrong courts. The pickleball courts now sport beautiful blue/green surfacing and new nets.

Pickleball courts are open daily during park hours (sunrise to 10 p.m.), and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
