SAN RAMON, CA — Sridhar Verose, a San Ramon software engineer and Parks and Community Services Commissioner, has announced a run for the city council District 3 seat.

Verose said he aims to provide police with additional tools related to anti-racism, implicit bias, mental illness and more, though he does support defunding police, according to his campaign website. He also wants to: implement safe routes to and from schools; protect students from violence, bullying and substance abuse; protect open space; ensure prudent spending; and support inclusion efforts and senior services in the community.

Verose, who holds a master's degree in software engineering from San Jose State University, has lived in San Ramon for 15 years and has worked in information technology for 25 years.
