San Ramon Rotary Club, one of the largest social impact organizations in San Ramon, announces its 2017 Student Scholarship Awards recipients

San Ramon Rotary Club, one of the largest social impact organizations in San Ramon and Danville, announced its 2017 Student Scholarships award winners at a luncheon held at the Crow Canyon Country Club on April 13th.
This year’s winner of the primary $10,000 scholarship award was Ji Won Kim, a senior at California High School, San Ramon, California. Ji Won stood out from over 20 students who applied for the coveted top scholarship award. In addition to earning a 4.5 GPA on a tough academic curriculum, she put in an equally impressive amount of time and effort in an array of volunteer roles and leadership responsibilities. The scholarship money will be applied towards Ji Won’s undergraduate studies at Rice University where she plans to study biochemistry or biological sciences.
Total scholarships of over $20,000 were awarded this year. These monies are part of the total funds raised by San Ramon Rotary members through their annual ‘Online Auction for Education’ event held in conjunction with the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation's ‘Run For Education’ event in October.
