The first two days of school will be minimum days. The new date is two days later than previously planned.
SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon schools will resume instruction on Thursday, August 13 — two days later than originally planned — to allow teachers to receive professional development on remote teaching.
The three-day professional development sessions will also focus on social and emotional learning, equity, and health and safety.
The San Ramon Valley Unified School District made the announcement Friday and said the first two days of school would be minimum days.

This agreement was negotiated with the teachers union, San Ramon Valley Education Association, and in consultation with the district's other unions. By moving these professional development days to the beginning of the year, two previously scheduled development days on Nov. 3 and Feb. 16 would be changed into instructional days.
The agreement is pending approval by the SRVUSD Board of Trustees.
