San Ramon Seeks Applicants For Poet Laureate, Other Committees
Anyone who wishes to serve as the poetic voice as San Ramon has until next week to apply.

SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon is accepting applications for its Poet Laureate, as well as for three other committee vacancies.
The Poet Laureate will be called upon to create and read poetry at civic events like public ceremonies and dedications. They will also serve as a “public advocate for the appreciation and advancement of the literary arts” and serve as a liaison between the city’s Cultural Arts Program and local literary organizations. The deadline to apply for the two-year term is Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. The current Poet Laureate, poet and teacher Jenyth Jo Gearhart-Utche, is retiring in September from her four-year post.

- The Arts Advisory Committee, which provides input to the city on its arts programming, is accepting applications for two alternate members to serve two-year terms. The positions are open until filled.
- The Senior Citizens Advisory Committee, which advises the Parks and Community Services Commission on how to promote senior wellbeing, is accepting applications for one alternate member aged 55 or older to serve a two-year term. The position is open until filled.
- The County Connection Citizens Advisory Committee, a countywide committee which advises the County Connection Board on fixed-route and paratransit service, is accepting applications for one San Ramon representative for a two-year term. The position is open until filled.
