MTC Express Carpool Check Pilot Program
Smartphone App Pilot
Do you carpool along the I-680 Contra Costa Corridor between Dublin and Martinez? If so, you could earn up to $300* by participating in the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) Express Carpool Check Pilot.
MTC has partnered with RideFlag Technologies to see how well a new smartphone app works to verify carpools in an MTC Express Lane. If successful, the technology could one day be used to make sure that only verified carpools receive toll discounts in express lanes.
Better compliance with rules would result in faster, more reliable trips for buses, carpools and those willing to pay to use the lanes.
MTC is seeking volunteers to participate in this pilot program.
