San Ramon Teen Baseball Champs Bound For Babe Ruth World Series
Teens on two Tri-Valley Babe Ruth baseball teams are headed to the league world series. The 14-and-under team is fundraising.
SAN RAMON, CA — Teenage baseball players from the Tri-Valley's Babe Ruth League team scored state titles last month, feats that will send dozens of 14- and 15-year-olds from San Ramon, Pleasanton and Danville to Babe Ruth World Series later this month.
Winning teens on the local 14-and-under team will head to Ottumwa, Iowa on later this month, where they are set to begin the series with a game against 14-year-olds in Rapid City, South Dakota on Aug. 15. On Monday, a fundraising campaign was launched on GoFundMe to raise money for airfare, lodging and meals for the champs. The effort had raised $1,325 of a $60,000 goal as of Tuesday afternoon.

"Congratulations to the TVBR 14s for winning their Regional Championship! Now on to the Babe Ruth World Series. We’re proud of you young men," Tri-Valley Babe Ruth wrote on its Facebook page.
The 15-and-under team will head to Eagle Pass, Texas to compete for the title after they secured the state championship title, and went 25-1 to win the Pacific Southwest Regional Championship and were named all-stars.

"Go get that Championship young men," the Tri-Valley league wrote.
Late last month, San Ramon's Canyon Creek Little League took home the regional title for 8- to 10-year-olds after going undefeated at the Little League Northern California Championship tournaments.
