San Ramon Teen to Go on an Art Exploration Road Trip

Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area Will Grant Her Wish to Visit Local Artists' Studios and Galleries, with Hands-On Learning Experiences

18-year-old Ariana from San Ramon suffers from a neuromuscular disorder and is wheelchair-bound. Drawing inspiration from some of her favorite hobbies, Ariana will be going on an art exploration road trip for her wish, stopping at local artists’ studios, a gallery and museum. Along the way, she’ll be guided in the techniques of pottery from a long-time Make-A-Wish volunteer and potter, Joe Sanger. She’ll also be able to experience glass blowing for the first time and will discover and experience some of the finer points of painting, sculpture, jewelry making and print making in one-on-one, hands-on experiences from Berkeley to San Luis Obispo.

Ariana’s mother, Nancy, father, Aleksandrs and sister Maija will join her on the road trip and the press is invited to attend one or more of the experiences.
