SAN RAMON VALLEY, CA — San Ramon Valley residents may see a smoke column or increased smoke over the region as firefighters in Santa Clara County conduct a burn operation in attempt to strengthen control over the fire, the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District said.

The increased level of smoke could last for a few days.

Dubbed firing operations, firefighters may execute these to burn and eliminate vegetation between the fire and the control line, or to gain better control over the blaze.
