PG&E In-Line Inspection Station on Dougherty Road and Staging Site on Alcosta Boulevard

PG&E is in the process of constructing an In‐Line Inspection (ILI) Station within the Dougherty Road right‐of‐way south of Old Ranch Road, and a site for gas line testing equipment at Alcosta Boulevard (across the street from Devil Mountain Nursery).

The ILI Station will allow PG&E to inspect the natural gas pipeline located within Dougherty Road every 5–7 years, in compliance with Federal regulations and California Public Utilities Commission requirements.

The site for gas line testing equipment (Enclosed Combustion Devices, or ECDs) at Alcosta Boulevard will be used on a temporary basis for testing every 5–7 years. The ECDs will only be present during testing, and will be removed when not in use. No permanent structures are planned for the site.

In order to operate the ECDs on the Alcosta Boulevard site, PG&E needed to grade the hillside area to provide flat pads for the trailers to stage. Grading was completed the week of June 5. The pad areas are being prepared this week (week of June 12). Once the five (5) pads have been completed (expected this week), the ECD units will be transported to the site and the gas line testing will begin.

When the dates PG&E plans to start testing the high-pressure gas line system are confirmed, details will be added to the City website, along with the anticipated duration of testing.
