San Ramon Woman Shot In Oakland: OPD

A 35-year-old San Ramon woman was wounded by a stray bullet in Oakland Thursday night, according to the Oakland Police Department.

SAN RAMON, CA — A 35-year-old woman from San Ramon is in stable condition after being hit by stray bullets in Oakland Thursday night, according to the Oakland Police Department and a report from the Bay Area News Group.

An unnamed woman was part of a group gathered around the 2400 block of Chestnut Street in Oakland just after 9:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the OPD. Police told The Mercury News that a person standing about a block away from the group began firing, and at least one person in the group started shooting back. The woman was the only one injured, though police do not believe it was intentional. OPD Officer Rosalia Lopez told Patch police also found evidence that one building and multiple vehicles were struck.

She is reportedly in stable condition at a hospital as of Friday, Lopez said.
